The Super Star Performer

The award winning GTO began production in 1990 and like the Galant GTO of the early 70s, represents the cutting edge of Mitsubishi Motors' high performance technology. Marketed outside of Japan as the 3000GT, the GTO, a completely new model from the ground up, offers more of everything than any other model in its class. Great cost performance, high response handling and driveability, advanced futuristic styling, high power output engine, ergonomic comfort and a host of other built in qualities are attributes of the GTO. A super sports car in every sense, the GTO was extensively equipped for record breaking performance. Its myriad of features include Mitsubishi's all-wheel control system comprising of 4WD, 4WS (4-wheel Steering), 4IS (4-wheel Independent Suspension), 4ABS (4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System) and ECS (Electronic Control Suspension).

A strong, smooth-action, 5-speed manual transmission harnesses Mitsubishi's new V6, 3000 DOHC, 24-valve, twin-turbocharged, intercooler engine which generates an astounding 280ps/6000rpm and 42.4kg./2500rpm. Like its high performance predecessors the Galant GT and the Starion, the GTO fills the driving enthusiasts with awe with its super sports car performance.
