High ground clearance, short front and rear overhangs, a squeezed minimum turning radius, and many water-resistance features endow the Pajero iO with go-anywhere off-road capabilities to complement the total great looks.

The Pajero iO handles superbly, has excellent traction and rides like a good natured stallion, courtesy of its McPherson strut front suspension and the five-link coil spring suspension at the rear. The environment-friendly GDI engine provides more than adequate power while simultaneously reducing harmful exhaust emissions. Standard on all models is the SS4-i system. This system, is noted for its low gear noise, reduced vibration and enhanced shift "feel."

The Pajero iO has a full complement of safety systems. Active safety systems, which help the driver to avoid accidents, include ABS for excellent braking control on all types of surfaces.
