Mitsubishi RVR

For the Active & Young at Heart

Responding to the emerging market needs for a family oriented leisure vehicle, Mitsubishi Motors successfully launched the five passenger RVR in 1991. Marketed abroad as the Mitsubishi Space Runner, the RVR was conceived for the active lifestyles of the 90s as a roomy, multi-purpose vehicle perfect for inner city application or for a memorable family outing across the country. To facilitate its multi-functional role, the compact RVR features a unique sliding side door and a second row seat which is fully reclineable, can be folded or tumbled forward for extra space or if need be, completely removed to provide a fully flat deck for maximum cargo space. The spacious interior with class leading leg room adopts a rear seat with fore/aft adjustments and with the sliding door, flat deck and high roof design, offers easy entry and exit. The rear door on the driver's side has been eliminated so that passengers cannot exit onto the traffic side of the vehicle. Full-time 4WD is available on some models to support the go-anywhere performance of the RVR.

The new RVR (Space Runner) and RVR Sports Gear offer more spacious interiors without compromising the series' theme of rugged performance delivered in compact form. Designed for the outdoor-oriented, these stylish SUV vehicles will whisk occupants to where the action is in comfort and safety. The new RVR is powered by Mitsubishi's GDI engine (Gasoline Direct Injection), which provides excellent performance but with the fuel consumption of a diesel. The RVR's styling is distinguished by crisp lines, while the RVR Sports Gear has a rugged, off-road look.
